"Pierino Group"

An intimate selection of mostly young painters, this group is lively and diverse. While many of the artists are abstractionist, a few follow more traditional concepts. Tom Hannan and Charles Littler exhibit bold, effective non-figurative works as does Alfred Jensen in his ponderous, Germanic abstractions. Felix Pasilis and Robert Conover, motivated by different artistic needs, both convert subject-matter into strong, harmonious compositions. Wolf Kahn offers an imperiously brushed portrait. Yet among the bright display, a simple line drawing by Tony Vevers tops them all. Painters such as Stander, Skondovitch, Halvorsen and Newell add to the quality of the group selections.
